Hospitalist Faculty Position – 2 weeks per month coverage

About the role

This faculty position is based at UT Health Pittsburg, a 25‑bed critical access hospital in East Texas. The role provides two weeks of hospitalist coverage each month, working 7 days on and 7 days off, with daytime shifts from 7 am to 7 pm. No ICU or procedural responsibilities are required.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient hospitalist care for 10‑15 daily census patients, averaging 2‑3 admissions per day.
• Participate in night cross‑coverage via remote APP support.
• Respond to ER runs and code events as needed.
• Teach rural family medicine residents during clinical rotations.
• Optionally pick up extra shifts at regional facilities.

Required profile

• Board‑certified/board‑eligible in Internal Medicine (ABIM) or Family Medicine (ABFM).
• Eligibility to obtain a Texas medical license.
• Willingness to work onsite at UT Health Pittsburg.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic EMR.
• Experience using Ambience AI scribe technology for documentation.
