Home Health Aide - Certified and Non-Certified

About the role

National Church Residences is looking for Home Health Aides in Central Ohio to provide direct client care and after-hours support. Shifts run 7:00am-5:00pm and 7:00pm-7:00am, with on-call opportunities involving weekday and weekend rotations. Both certified and non-certified HHAs are welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and mobility
• Prepare meals and help with feeding as needed
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry and errands
• Monitor and report changes in client condition, take vital signs when ordered, and complete documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable home environment
• During on-call rotations: act as the primary after-hours contact, answer calls and texts, coordinate replacement coverage, partner with the Manager on Duty, stay accessible evenings and overnight, and provide direct client coverage when alternate staffing cannot be secured
• Weekend on-call: pick up phones and materials, confirm caregiver assignments, and return equipment at the end of the shift

Required profile

• Certified or non-certified HHA
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role and to remain responsive during on-call hours

Required skills

• Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
• Ability to stay calm and professional in urgent situations
• Dependable, organized and able to work independently
