Histotechnician – Immunohistology Lab

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Histotechnician to join its Immunohistology Laboratory. This full‑time, day‑shift position supports clinical staff by preparing and processing tissue specimens for diagnostic and research purposes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine histology and immunohistochemistry procedures on a variety of tissue samples.
• Prepare, embed, section, and stain specimens according to established protocols.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Document all work accurately in the laboratory information system.
• Assist with quality control, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current employee of the University of Arkansas System (including student employees or graduate assistants) or qualified external candidate.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise laboratory procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in histology techniques and immunohistochemistry workflows.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to accurately record and interpret laboratory data.
