History Teacher (Grades 6‑8)

About the role

Founders Classical Academy seeks a passionate History Teacher for grades 6‑8. The teacher will deliver a classical liberal‑arts curriculum, fostering intellectual, emotional, and civic growth in a democratic classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging lessons using classical teaching methods.
• Assign, collect, and grade classwork and homework promptly.
• Administer formative and summative assessments, record results, and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain a classroom of 20‑27 students, ensuring a respectful and virtuous learning atmosphere.
• Interpret student data, diagnostic test results, and state assessment scores to guide instruction.
• Collaborate with parents, peers, and administration to support student success.

Required profile

• Texas State Teacher’s Certification in the subject or a bachelor’s degree with a passing ExCET/TExES exam.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in the content area, supported by a professional recommendation.
• Passion for students and strong knowledge of historical content.
• Ability to model and teach virtue, and to cultivate habits of virtue in students.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
