High Performance Tennis Coach

About the role

Midtown is looking for a High Performance Tennis Coach to engage members and foster their love of tennis. The coach delivers high-quality training for competitive junior players and acts as an ambassador for junior competitive tennis within the club and externally, aiming to set the industry standard for junior high-performance programming. The role suits someone who is adaptable, energetic and thrives in a people-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the HP Manager in planning, organizing and delivering programs such as sessional programs, holiday and summer camps, tournaments and special events.
• Bring positive energy, encouragement and enthusiasm to every practice or lesson, and keep the program aligned with Midtown's brand standards and methodologies.
• Work with the HP Manager and the Racquet Sports Manager on programs, coach development and methodologies.
• Maintain a clean, organized court environment, including ball carts, balls and teaching aids.
• Be present and accessible to players and their parents, and coach groups in the HP program and pathway.
• Generate private and semi-private lessons, teach adult programs and coach at times that fit the program, including weekends.
• Take part in scheduled meetings with the HP Manager and the coaching team, promote the program locally, regionally and nationally, and travel to domestic tournaments.
• Accept other assignments assigned by the HP Manager.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience working with high-performance players.
• Ability to compete and hit with UTR 10+ players.
• Current certification with either the PTR or the USPTA.
• Effective communication skills, a passion for the game and for learning.

What we offer

• Full-time coaches earn an on-court rate of $40-$50 depending on credentials and experience, with a standard admin rate of $15.
