High-Impact Remote Tutor for Math & ELA (GROW Program)

About the role

Join Paper's GROW high‑impact tutoring program and help students achieve measurable academic gains. As a remote tutor you will work with small groups or one‑on‑one learners in Math and/or English Language Arts, delivering 30‑45 minute sessions 2–3 times per week over 8–12 week cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead live, video‑based tutoring sessions for groups of 2‑4 students or individual learners.
• Prepare each session using provided lesson plans and materials.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging virtual classroom environment.
• Build rapport with students and encourage active participation.
• Adapt instruction to diverse abilities, learning styles, and needs.
• Administer informal assessments and adjust support accordingly.
• Deliver tutoring aligned with curriculum standards and incorporate QA feedback.
• Collaborate with the team via Slack and respond to emergency substitution requests.
• Accept a minimum of three GROW programs per semester.

Required profile

• Ability to tutor Math and ELA for elementary grades (3‑5).
• Ability to tutor at least one subject for middle and high school grades (6‑12).
• Strong verbal communication and facilitation skills for live virtual sessions.
• Proven ability to engage students and build rapport.
• Excellent time‑management, organization, and reliability.
• Adaptability to diverse student learning styles and needs.
