Heavy Highway Superintendent

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Highway Superintendent to lead daily field operations on a growing backlog of highway and infrastructure projects in North‑Central Kentucky. The role demands a hands‑on leader who can coordinate crews, subcontractors, and complex earth‑moving activities while maintaining safety and schedule integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily field activities for highway widening, excavation, embankment, storm drainage, waterline installation, crushed‑stone placement, and blasting.
• Coordinate and supervise crews and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project specifications and timelines.
• Maintain strict safety standards and enforce OSHA regulations on‑site.
• Interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications to guide construction execution.
• Monitor project progress, report status, and resolve on‑site issues promptly.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent field experience.
• Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in road construction or large earth‑moving projects.
• Strong understanding of heavy highway construction methods and DOT compliance standards.
• Proven ability to lead crews, manage subcontractors, and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and work‑ethic.
