Heavy Civil Senior Estimator

About the role

The Senior Estimator will lead the estimating function for heavy civil, energy and utilities projects, shaping regional procurement strategy and securing high‑value work. Reporting to regional leadership, this role oversees the full bid lifecycle while building lasting client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end estimating process from opportunity evaluation to proposal submission.
• Develop accurate cost models, assess risks, and align bids with corporate goals.
• Serve as the primary liaison with clients, presenting proposals and fostering repeat business.
• Mentor and develop a team of estimators, promoting collaboration across business units.
• Continuously improve estimating practices to meet company standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 10 + years of construction estimating experience, especially in joint trench utilities.
• Proven track record leading complex bids and supervising team‑based estimating efforts.
• Broad experience across multiple project types and contract structures.
• Strong leadership, business acumen and communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, cost control and scheduling.
• Deep understanding of construction contracts, risk assessment and procurement strategy.
• Experience with estimating and project management software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with industry regulations, codes and compliance requirements.
