Heart Care Nurse Practitioner

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Heart Care Nurse Practitioner in Davenport, Florida. The nurse practitioner provides comprehensive primary, acute and extended care in line with scope of practice, licensure and the Collaborative Practice Agreement, working alongside physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments, including physical exams, patient histories and interpretation of diagnostic tests
• Initiate orders for medications, lab studies, diagnostic tests and treatments within scope of practice
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across organ systems and develop individualized plans of care
• Provide patient and family education, counseling and support
• Coordinate care with physicians and the team, including discharge planning and efficient patient flow
• Take part in rounds, case conferences and care planning, and respond to urgent or emergent needs on call
• Document accurately and take part in quality improvement and evidence-based practice

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing
• 1+ year of related work experience
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state
