Health Technology Instructor – Professional (109 Endorsement)

About the role
The State of Connecticut Technical High School System is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join Eli Whitney Technical High School as a Health Technology Instructor. You will educate high‑school students in health‑technology trades, preparing them for skilled‑workforce careers while supporting the school’s mission of technical excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver curriculum for health‑technology courses aligned with state standards.
- Assess student performance, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure safe operation and maintenance of health‑technology equipment and student transport vehicles.
- Supervise students during hands‑on labs and field experiences.
- Complete required state certifications and continuing education within the first year.
Required profile
- At least 8 years of experience in a health‑related field, with 6 years after earning an associate degree or higher.
- Active Registered Nurse license in Connecticut (or multistate/compact RN license).
- Ability to obtain a CT 109 Health Occupations endorsement within the first year.
- Willingness to acquire BLS and CPR instructor certifications and a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Completion of three CCSU courses: VTE 113, VTE 116, and Special Education.
Required skills
- Registered Nurse licensure.
- BLS instructor certification (American Heart Association).
- CPR instructor certification (American Red Cross).
- Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements.
- Knowledge of health‑technology equipment and vocational teaching methods.
