Health Science Core, PCA & Phlebotomy Instructor

About the role

The Health Science Core, PCA & Phlebotomy Instructor will deliver classroom and clinical instruction for health science core, patient care assisting/nurse aide, and phlebotomy courses at the Cook and Valdosta campuses and partner high schools. This position supports student success through effective teaching, assessment, and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instruction for health science core, PCA, and phlebotomy courses, both day and evening.
• Evaluate student clinical performance, progress, and procedural competencies.
• Maintain accurate gradebooks, documentation, and administrative reports.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in training areas.
• Prepare and maintain supplies, equipment, and course materials.
• Supervise students in clinical settings, including variable hours as needed.

Required profile

• Relevant work experience in health sciences, patient care assistance, or phlebotomy.
• Appropriate certifications and credentials for teaching the listed courses.
• Commitment to equity, supporting underrepresented and disabled students.
• Ability to comply with college health and safety policies and occupational health regulations.

Required skills

• Phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
• Patient Care Assistance (PCA) and Nurse Aide competencies.
• Clinical evaluation and competency assessment.
