Health Program Internship

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Salt Lake City is seeking a Health Program Intern to support its health initiatives. This short‑term, 3‑month internship offers hands‑on experience in public health, client outreach, and program coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients in accessing health services, schedule appointments, and provide public transit orientations.
• Teach "Navigating the Healthcare System" classes and facilitate mental‑health screenings.
• Organize group sessions, transport clients to medical appointments, and refer them to community resources.
• Enter and track client data in internal systems.
• Participate in weekly health program meetings and supervision.
• Support partner relationship building and contribute to program development goals.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant public health, social work, or related program.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment of 10‑20 hours per week for the internship duration.
