About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a passionate Health and Wellness Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This unpaid position supports the IRC’s mission to connect newly arrived refugees and immigrants in Atlanta with essential medical care and health education.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate initial health screening appointments for newly arrived refugee clients at the Department of Public Health.
- Maintain a dynamic tracking system for ongoing medical and high‑priority health appointments.
- Conduct follow‑up calls with clients after medical visits to gather information on upcoming appointments, follow‑up care, and client experiences.
- Advocate for and coordinate refugee clients’ healthcare needs.
- Perform data entry, analysis, and administrative tasks related to health services.
Required profile
- Current undergraduate or graduate student interested in public health.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to confidentiality.
