Head of Learning & Development

About the role

The Head of Learning & Development will shape and execute a global learning strategy for a fast‑growing international recruitment firm. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role offers high‑visibility executive exposure and the opportunity to build the L&D function from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a global L&D strategy aligned with business goals.
• Design, deliver, and scale leadership and management training programs across US and UK offices.
• Create development pathways from onboarding through to senior leadership.
• Partner with senior leaders to identify capability gaps and drive performance improvement.
• Strengthen manager capability in coaching, accountability, and performance management.
• Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and leadership development initiatives.
• Establish and track L&D success metrics such as productivity, retention, progression, and manager effectiveness.
• Build and shape the future of the L&D function as the business scales globally.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of Learning & Development experience.
• Background in recruitment agency, executive search, staffing, consultancy, or similar agency environment.
• Proven experience building leadership and management development programs in a high‑performance, growth‑oriented business.
• Commercial mindset with ability to link learning initiatives to business outcomes.
• Strong facilitation skills and ability to influence stakeholders from new hires to executive leadership.
• Willingness to work four days per week onsite in the NYC office (five days when delivering training).
