Head of Claims

About the role

Our client, an AI‑native third‑party administrator, is looking for a hands‑on Head of Claims to lead, redesign and scale its global claims function. Reporting to senior leadership, you will treat claims as a product and technical challenge, building fast, AI‑driven processes across multiple lines of business.

Key responsibilities

• Rebuild claims operations from first principles, simplifying workflows, escalation structures and QA systems.
• Define and maintain technical claims handling standards for auto, property, liability, travel, renters and other specialised products.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to automate workflows and integrate AI solutions.
• Establish governance frameworks for high‑risk, litigated or precedent‑setting claims and make final technical decisions on complex cases.
• Recruit, develop and mentor claims handlers, team leads and QA specialists, creating coaching and calibration systems.
• Drive continuous improvement of core metrics such as leakage, fraud prevention, recoveries and audit performance.
• Manage key partner and customer relationships, acting as the senior claims subject‑matter expert in strategic meetings.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in claims operations, preferably within insurance or TPA environments.
• Strong track record of building scalable, technology‑enabled processes across multiple geographies.
• Excellent analytical mindset with the ability to redesign complex workflows.
• Hands‑on experience reviewing high‑value or high‑risk claims and making final technical decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop and lead high‑performing claims teams.

Required skills

What we offer

• Competitive base salary $150,000‑$200,000 per year.
• Equity package valued between £110,000 and £150,000.
