Head Baker

About the role

Discovery Land Company’s Atlantic Fields location is seeking a Head Baker to lead its bakery operations. The role blends culinary creativity with operational leadership to deliver artisan breads and specialty baked goods that shape the member experience.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily bakery activities, including mixing, proofing, baking, finishing and presentation of all products.
• Develop and manage production schedules to meet regular service and special‑event demands.
• Delegate tasks, monitor workflow and control waste while ensuring product availability.
• Maintain consistent quality, appearance, taste and presentation standards.
• Create, test and refine recipes for artisan breads and seasonal specialty items.
• Collaborate with culinary leadership on innovative menu offerings.
• Standardize recipes and production methods for cost control and consistency.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations, food safety standards and company policies.
• Oversee clean, organized and sanitary bakery work areas and proper equipment use.
• Recruit, train, mentor, schedule and supervise bakery team members.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree or certification in Baking & Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts preferred.
• Minimum ten (10) years of baking experience, preferably in a high‑end, fast‑paced environment such as a luxury hotel or country club.
• Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as business demands require.
