Hazmat Technician

About the role

RLC is seeking a Hazmat Technician to join its Lakeland, FL service center. The role involves responding to emergency situations, cleaning up hazardous and non‑hazardous materials, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform emergency response and site‑remediation activities.
• Handle, transport, and decontaminate hazardous materials safely.
• Audit incoming and outgoing hazardous shipments for compliance.
• Maintain accurate daily job notes and safety documentation.
• Lead safety practices during waste containerization and equipment decontamination.
• Participate in live training events and coach co‑workers on safe behaviors.

Required profile

• 24‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (40‑hour preferred).
• Physically able to lift up to 75 lb and work in high‑pressure environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Detail‑oriented with the capacity to manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
