Hardware Test & Integration Engineer

About the role

The Systems Integration and Test group at Vistance Networks builds and validates hardware used in real‑world access networks. As a Hardware Test & Integration Engineer you will lead system‑level testing of RF amplifier projects, ensuring they meet design specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, test and document Cable TV access network systems and components.
• Automate test procedures using LabVIEW and/or Python to improve workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate with software, firmware and hardware design engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Operate and program test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers and signal generators via SCPI and GPIB.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in telecommunications or CATV laboratory environments.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and lift up to 50 lb for equipment handling.

Required skills

• Strong programming skills in LabVIEW and/or Python.
• Expert knowledge of CATV RF components (laser transmitters, EDFAs, receivers, RF nodes, amplifiers, Ethernet transport devices, media converters, DWDM/CWDM passives).
• Proficiency with SCPI and GPIB protocols for automating VNA, spectrum analyzer and signal generator measurements.
• Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word) and test equipment operation.

• Base salary range $87,400 – $1,111,500 per year.
