Hardware Test Engineer – Automotive PCB Validation

About the role

We are seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to join the Compute Hardware team and validate automotive‑grade PCB designs. You will perform board‑level testing, automate laboratory workflows and support early prototype characterization for a range of vehicle‑focused products.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and refine validation test plans for custom automotive PCBs.
• Characterize board performance using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads and data acquisition systems.
• Develop and maintain automated test routines and equipment control scripts in Python.
• Document test results in clear reports for internal teams and external customers.
• Collaborate with electrical design, system integration and software groups to bring up boards and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Interpret and follow OEM testing protocols and contribute to vehicle‑level system validation.

Required profile

• Hands‑on passion for hardware validation and strong laboratory skills.
• Experience working with OEM testing procedures and automotive PCB prototypes.
• Ability to own projects end‑to‑end within a small, fast‑moving hardware team.

Required skills

• Python scripting for equipment automation.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads and DAQ systems.
• Board‑level testing and characterization techniques.
• Understanding of OEM test protocols for automotive hardware.
