Hardware Qualification Engineer Level 2

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Hardware Qualification Engineer Level 2 to support the integration, calibration, and qualification of advanced R&D modules. The role works closely with module owners to ensure tools meet performance specifications both on‑ and off‑tool, contributing to the development of cutting‑edge semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Support R&D module owners in off‑ and on‑tool module integration, calibration, and qualification.
• Qualify module performance against specifications in both on‑tool and off‑tool environments.
• Define, execute, and qualify calibration procedures and qualification plans for non‑system components.
• Provide third‑level debug support and escalation for modules within the area of expertise.

Required profile

• High‑level technical knowledge in at least one R&D discipline such as Optic, Electronic, Motion, or SEM.
• Experience with tool build, integration, and production documentation, including full build books and subsystem ATP tests.
• Ability to develop and execute qualification plans and calibration procedures.
