Guest (Substitute) Teacher – Part Time

About the role

The School District of Baraboo is seeking qualified guest (substitute) teachers to support classrooms from 4K through 12th grade on a part‑time basis. This position provides flexible, day‑to‑day assignments across five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lesson plans and maintain classroom management in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Provide instructional support that aligns with district standards and equity goals.
• Adapt quickly to varying grade levels and subject areas as needed.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students.

Required profile

• Hold a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teacher or substitute teacher license.
• Commit to the district’s core belief of equitable access and removal of learning barriers.
• Demonstrate professionalism and flexibility in diverse classroom settings.

Required skills

What we offer

• Daily rate of $140.00 for a full teaching day.
• Full rate for assignments exceeding 4 hours; half rate for 4 hours or less.
