Group Exercise Instructor

About the role

The Group Exercise Instructor leads safe, effective, and enjoyable fitness classes for members of the Dundee Township Park District. Reporting to the Group Exercise Coordinator, the instructor builds community, supports members in achieving health goals, and enhances the overall club experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver group exercise classes that are safe, challenging, and fun, following established class formats.
• Instruct participants on proper exercise techniques, equipment usage, and modifications.
• Track class attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Promote positive member relations, respond to feedback, and encourage continued participation.
• Maintain equipment in safe working order and ensure the exercise area is secure.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and comply with all safety and loss‑prevention policies.

Required profile

• Certified Group Exercise Instructor (or ability to obtain certification within 3 months).
• Certified in First Aid/AED/CPR (or ability to obtain certification within 3 months).
• Fluent in English; Spanish language ability is desirable.
• Physical ability to demonstrate proper equipment usage and exercise techniques.
