Groundskeeper – Campus Maintenance

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to maintain the campus grounds of Augusta Technical College. This full‑time, onsite position ensures the outdoor environment remains safe, attractive, and functional for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Cut, fertilize, and maintain grass areas, including edging and curbing.
• Pick up and dispose of trash throughout the campus.
• Spray, prune, and care for shrubbery as needed.
• Maintain parking lots and surrounding walkways.
• Repair and service the sprinkler system.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds equipment and tools.
• Apply chemicals and equipment safely and according to regulations.
• Assist with the upkeep of areas around campus buildings.
• Ensure overall appearance, cleanliness, security, and safety of the grounds.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Grounds Supervisor or Director of Maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred horticulture education).
• At least one year of experience in grounds keeping or a related field.
• Working knowledge of grounds equipment, tools, and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and college policies.
• Effective communication skills.
