Ground Support Technician – 3rd Shift

About the role

Airbus US Manufacturing is seeking a Ground Support Technician for the 3rd shift at its Mobile, AL facility. You will be responsible for safely off‑loading major aircraft components, operating overhead cranes and tow tugs, and supporting logistics on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes (6.5‑50 tons) to move major component assemblies (MCAs) between transport jigs and the Final Assembly Line.
• Drive heavy aircraft tow tugs to position aircraft for pre‑Final Operational Testing, following AMM procedures.
• Coordinate logistical support for cannibalisation, re‑allocation, and out‑of‑sequence material requests, including loading/unloading containers with forklifts and man lifts.
• Perform fueling of ground support equipment using portable tanks and complete daily pre‑operational inspections.
• Maintain accurate documentation on job cards, SAP, and EHS training records.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years experience operating overhead cranes.
• At least 3 years experience in aviation ramp operations.
• Experience with heavy equipment such as forklifts, articulating lifts, and tow tugs.
• Ability to work at heights up to 40 ft and in confined spaces.
