Grind Machinist II – 3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced Grind Machinist II for the 3rd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will produce high‑precision components for critical aerospace and defense programs such as the F‑35, MQ‑25, and FLRAA, working in a performance‑driven culture that values quality and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and verbal instructions to set up grinding operations.
• Select appropriate grinding wheels, dress them, and run production parts to exact drawing requirements.
• Grind complex parts with intricate recesses, grooves, tapers, and unusual contours to tight tolerances (typically .001 +/- .0005).
• Maintain high surface finish on multiple grinder types, including cylindrical grinders.
• Perform in‑process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and dial bore gauges.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a grind machinist in a precision‑manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated competence with measuring equipment and blueprint reading.
• Willingness to enroll in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required for safety‑sensitive work.
