Greenskeeper III

About the role

The Greenskeeper III will join the Golf Course Maintenance team at Makena Golf & Beach Club on Maui. This hands‑on role ensures the golf course grounds are kept in pristine condition, contributing to the overall member experience and the reputation of Discovery Land Company.

Key responsibilities

• Mow tees, greens, fairways and roughs using push rotary mowers and string trimmers.
• Rake and maintain bunkers, perform general bunker upkeep.
• Operate, pre‑start, and post‑use all course equipment, reporting any issues to the Equipment Manager.
• Hand‑water, fertilize, and spot‑spray weeds on tees, greens, fairways, roughs, landscape collars, approaches, lawns and nurseries.
• Perform detailed tee‑area maintenance, including debris removal, broken‑tee pickup and trash handling.
• Hand‑weed, top‑dress turf areas and clean cart paths, parking lots and clubhouse areas with blowers.
• Assist with small‑scale golf‑course construction projects and daily course set‑up, including hole and tee‑maker relocation.
• Support set‑up and breakdown of special events as needed and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Required profile

• Prior landscaping experience, preferably in residential or hospitality settings.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles safely.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of outdoor work in all weather conditions.
