Greenskeeper – Golf Course Maintenance

About the role

The Greenskeeper will join the Golf Course Maintenance Department at North Shore Preserve, Kaua’i, Hawaii. Working under the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent, you will help maintain the course’s playing surfaces, sand bunkers, and surrounding landscapes, contributing to the overall Discovery Land Company experience for members and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mowers, string trimmers, and other hand‑powered equipment to trim greens, tees, aprons, and surrounding areas.
• Edge cart paths, rake, and maintain sand bunkers; set tee markers, cups, and maintain ball washers.
• Maintain fuel and fluid levels, report equipment issues, and return equipment to the maintenance facility.
• Mark cart control areas, move barriers, and replace ropes and signs weekly.
• Water, fertilize, and spray chemicals on tees, greens, fairways, and landscaped areas.
• Assist in construction projects: grade soil, lay sod, seed, install forms, and build walks and paths.
• Excavate, backfill ditches, and repair irrigation pipes.
• Operate light equipment such as dump trucks, mowers, and loaders as needed.

Required profile

• Knowledge of grounds and landscape construction and maintenance methods.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and small motorized equipment.
• Ability to operate trucks and light equipment safely.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions.
