Grants Analyst 3 – Research Administration

About the role

The Office of Research Administration at the University of Miami is seeking a Grants Analyst 3 to oversee financial management of government grants and contracts. The analyst will ensure accurate record‑keeping, budget monitoring and compliance with federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly vouchers and expenditure justifications on time.
• Assist in developing, modifying and forecasting program budgets.
• Perform grant‑related functions including budget distributions, expense monitoring, periodic invoicing and financial reporting.
• Execute grant closeout activities such as reconciliations, final invoices and final reporting.
• Communicate with fiscal contacts at funding sources to resolve issues and gather information.
• Monitor the general ledger, enter adjustments and investigate discrepancies.
• Participate in annual audit reporting for federal awards and ensure compliance with university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least four years of progressive grant accounting experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge of federal regulations such as OMB Uniform Guidance, Cost Accounting Standards and FAR.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, pivot tables, filtering, formulas).
