About the role

The Chemistry Graduate Teaching Assistant will support faculty in laboratory and lecture courses at East Texas A&M University. This position is ideal for master’s students with a chemistry background seeking hands‑on teaching experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist faculty with teaching lab and lecture classes, including grading homework, exams, and reports.
  • Supervise students in the laboratory, enforce proper PPE use, and ensure lab safety.
  • Prepare chemicals and manage stockroom supplies for student labs.
  • Support virtual labs and use the D2L Brightspace learning management system.
  • Proctor exams, conduct make‑up exams, and hold weekly office hours for student assistance.

Required profile

  • Master’s student in Chemistry or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of chemistry lab safety and chemical handling.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor students in a lab environment.
