Graduate Research Assistant – Machine Learning & AI

About the role

The Graduate Research Assistant will join the COSMOS Research Center to develop advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence models for socio‑computational analysis of social media, especially video‑based platforms. Working on‑campus, the assistant will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to uncover patterns in online behavior and cyber campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement ML/AI‑driven models to analyze text, multimedia, and metadata from social media sources.
• Conduct content analysis and network analysis to map interactions and influence.
• Build predictive models of socio‑technical behaviors and identify key actors and groups coordinating cyber campaigns.
• Collaborate with faculty and research staff to refine methodologies and validate findings.
• Document research processes, results, and prepare reports for academic dissemination.

Required profile

• Current graduate student with a strong background in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related fields.
• Experience in data analysis and handling large, multimodal datasets.
• Interest in social media analytics, cyber behavior research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
