Graduate Research Assistant – Electrical Engineering

About the role

The Graduate Research Assistant will join a cutting‑edge research group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Prairie View A&M University. Working under principal investigators, you will help develop AI‑enabled edge‑computing and advanced signal‑processing models for real‑time anomaly detection and secure 5G/6G military networks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research on edge AI, time‑frequency intrusion detection, deep‑learning and reinforcement‑learning models.
• Mentor undergraduate researchers in wireless communications, machine learning and IoT projects.
• Write grant proposals and contribute to NSF deliverables.
• Publish results in top‑tier conferences and journals (IEEE INFOCOM, Globecom, ICC, JSAC, TMC, etc.).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate blockchain trust mechanisms into 5G/6G testbeds.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
• Currently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine graduate credit hours.
• Good academic standing (minimum 2.0 GPA).
• Eligibility to work in the United States without university‑paid H‑1B sponsorship.
