Graduate Enrollment Specialist/Advisor

About the role

The Graduate Enrollment Specialist/Advisor supports recruiting, retention, and advising activities for East Texas A&M University’s graduate programs. Working under the Dean of Graduate Studies & Research, the role provides academic guidance and promotes graduate enrollment across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the university at recruiting and marketing events throughout Texas and at East Texas A&M‑Dallas.
• Advise graduate students, faculty, and staff from inquiry through graduation, including registration assistance and course substitution reviews.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of graduate policies, prepare reports on advising trends, and collaborate on advising materials.
• Utilize university systems (Target X, EAB, DegreeWorks, Banner, WebFocus, Laserfiche) for student tracking and advising.
• Manage social media content and create promotional materials such as flyers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of experience in advising, recruitment, marketing, or customer service.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 35% within Texas and work evenings or weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Social media management and content creation.
• Proficiency with promotional design tools for flyer creation.
• Experience using Target X, EAB, DegreeWorks, Banner, WebFocus, and Laserfiche.
• Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
