Graduate Assistant – Teaching (Art & Visual Communication) – Dallas

About the role

The Department of Art at East Texas A&M University seeks a full‑time Graduate Assistant to support teaching and administrative functions for its Art and Visual Communication programs in Dallas. This semester‑based fellowship provides hands‑on experience in higher‑education instruction while covering tuition for up to six credits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide up to 20 hours per week of assistance with classroom instruction, grading, and student mentorship.
• Support administrative tasks related to course planning, material preparation, and departmental events.
• Assist with projects outside the Art department that align with the assistant’s strengths.
• Maintain compliance with university policies and security‑sensitive requirements.

Required profile

• Must be an Art major in good standing with the Graduate School.
• Overall graduate GPA of at least 3.00 for completed courses.
• Registered each term of the assistantship.
• Bachelor’s degree in an art‑related field and admission to the Graduate School.
