About the role
The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks a Graduate Assistant to support the Division of Music while completing a one‑year master’s degree in Jazz Studies. This 12‑month, on‑campus position blends academic coursework with hands‑on teaching and performance responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist faculty in conducting ensembles and teaching methods courses.
- Provide applied lessons to undergraduate music students.
- Perform in various ensembles as needed, supporting concerts and rehearsals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental projects within the graduate assistant’s area of expertise.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Music degree or at least 18 credit hours in performance, education, or jazz.
- Admission to the Graduate School at UAM (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated proficiency on at least one primary instrument (saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar, bass, voice, or related).
