GPSTC Instructor 3 – Fire Service Training

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Public Safety is seeking a GPSTC Instructor 3 to lead fire service training at its Center. This full‑time position coordinates and delivers the Fire Instructor Series, supporting statewide public‑safety education.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and deliver fire‑service training courses, including Fire Instructor and Fire Officer topics.
• Conduct needs assessments, research, and evaluation of statewide training programs.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and teamwork with trainees and staff.
• Perform training activities in all weather conditions, requiring prolonged standing, riding, driving, bending, and squatting.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment, including full turnout gear.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years progressive experience with a fire‑service agency.
• At least one year of experience as an instructor developing and delivering fire‑service training.
• High school diploma or GED plus four years of relevant law‑enforcement, firefighting, EMS, rescue, or 911 communications experience.
• Ability to obtain Georgia P.O.S.T. instructor certification within six months of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience using Microsoft and Google platforms for course development and record‑keeping.
