Global Trade Compliance Senior Manager

About the role

Amgen is looking for a Senior Manager in Global Trade Compliance (GTC), part of its Worldwide Compliance & Business Ethics organization. You will lead key elements of the global trade compliance program, giving strategic guidance on sanctions, export controls, restricted-party screening, clinical valuation and other international trade matters. The role is the main escalation point for high-risk screening alerts and complex ownership determinations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise framework for screening counterparties, transactions and ownership structures under the OFAC 50% rule, the BIS 50% rule and other global regulators
• Act as the primary escalation point for high-risk alerts and complex ownership cases, leading enhanced due diligence and preparing risk assessments and recommended actions
• Lead the global clinical trial customs valuation program, including valuation methodologies, the annual true-up and stakeholder coordination
• Support trade compliance for acquisitions, product launches, supply chain changes and other strategic initiatives
• Use automation, AI and advanced analytics to improve efficiency, scalability and risk detection
• Foster a culture of ethics, integrity and continuous improvement

Required profile

• One of: doctorate with 2 years, master's with 4 years, bachelor's with 6 years, or associate's with 10 years of experience in compliance, screening operations, risk management, regulatory affairs, audit, law or a related field
• Preferred: trade compliance subject matter expert experience at a multinational company, healthcare or life sciences background
• Preferred: strong knowledge of BIS and OFAC sanctions and the 50 Percent Rule, ownership due diligence, and sanctions platforms such as Dow Jones, Descartes, MK Denial, Sayari, Kharon, SAP GTS or Oracle GTM
