Global Product Support Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Global Product Support Engineer to develop procedures, support new semiconductor and display equipment, and work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. The role involves creating best‑known methods, troubleshooting field issues, and delivering training to customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs) for servicing new products.
• Contribute to the FMECA process and own first chamber build & test in the Apps lab.
• Collaborate with Engineering to resolve identified issues and with Manufacturing to develop test procedures.
• Partner with Quality & Reliability to review top field issues and lead CAPA activities.
• Conduct failure analysis and create technical product manuals, CENs, ISBs, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collect qualification data to establish product BKMs and develop training packages for Global Technical Training.
• Train Customer Engineers, Process Engineers, and Technical Product Support staff before equipment shipments.
• Identify and coordinate stocking of new parts with AGS.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in product support and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Understands best practices, market competition, and integration of product support with other functions.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and can lead small projects.
• Solves complex problems using multiple information sources and exercises sound judgment.
• Communicates difficult information effectively and builds consensus.

• Salary range $124,000 – $171,000 per year.
