Global Product Support Engineer III – CMP

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Global Product Support Engineer III for its CMP (Chemical Mechanical Planarization) product line. The role focuses on developing procedures, troubleshooting, and supporting customers worldwide while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs) for new CMP products and create technical product manuals.
• Contribute to FMECA, own first‑chamber build & test, and drive CAPA and failure analysis activities.
• Partner with manufacturing to define final test procedures and with Quality & Reliability to address top field issues.
• Produce Customer Engineering Notices, Internal Service Bulletins, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collect qualification data, develop training packages, and train customer engineers and support staff.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in product support, procedure development, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, capable of leading small projects and influencing stakeholders.
• Effective communication skills for explaining complex technical information and building consensus.
