Global Head of Logistics

About the role

Acker is looking for a strategic, operationally‑minded Global Head of Logistics to own and elevate its worldwide logistics function. This senior leadership position will oversee logistics across Asia‑Pacific, Europe and the Americas, ensuring time‑sensitive, high‑value alcohol shipments arrive on schedule and in perfect condition.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute a unified global logistics strategy aligned with the auction calendar and growth objectives.
• Lead and develop direct reports in Hong Kong, London and U.S. locations, building a cohesive, high‑performing team.
• Serve as the senior contact for all 3PL and freight partners, including fine‑wine specialists, bonded carriers and white‑glove couriers.
• Establish KPIs for on‑time delivery, shipment integrity, cost per shipment, claims rates and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee end‑to‑end logistics for pre‑auction consignments, post‑sale deliveries and retail shipments, enforcing temperature‑controlled cold‑chain protocols (12–18 °C).
• Deploy real‑time cargo tracking, develop contingency plans for delays or damages, and manage escalations of high‑value inventory.
• Lead customs compliance across all markets, partnering with brokers and legal counsel to manage permits, duties, alcohol licensing and HS‑code classification.
• Monitor regulatory developments and maintain AEO status.

Required profile

• Extensive experience coordinating time‑sensitive, high‑value alcohol shipments on a global scale.
• Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and drive performance across multiple regions.
• Strong partnership skills with operations, client services, finance and legal functions.
• Deep knowledge of customs, trade compliance and alcohol‑specific transport regulations.
