Global Asset Manager Insecticides
BASF · Research Triangle Park
Job description
About the role
BASF is looking for a Global Asset Manager Insecticides to join its Agricultural Solutions team in Research Triangle Park, NC. The role maximizes the long-term value, profitability and sustainability of assigned active ingredient assets (Dinotefuran, Flufenoxuron, Cyflumetofen, Metaflumizone and Teflubenzuron) across their full lifecycle, acting as the global owner of the asset roadmap.
Key responsibilities
- Own and continuously update the 10+ year global asset roadmap, integrating market dynamics, regulatory outlook, IP position, supply strategy and financial performance.
- Shape a competitive global supply strategy, balance make-or-buy decisions against demand volatility and track sales, margin and asset profitability.
- Strengthen IP protection, navigate regulatory complexity (approvals, MRLs, renewals) and ensure compliance with stewardship and sustainability standards.
- Support or lead in-licensing acquisitions and out-licensing divestments, and act as the main interface for global third-party relationships.
- Identify new business segments and out-licensing opportunities, and lead global cross-functional asset teams with a high degree of autonomy.
- Contribute asset knowledge to the innovation process led by Crop Systems, supporting lifecycle management, indication expansion and formulation improvement.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Business Administration or a related field; master's preferred.
- Additional qualification in business, marketing or intellectual property management preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in Crop Protection or a related agricultural, chemical or life sciences industry.
- Experience managing mature or post-patent active ingredients in competitive generic markets.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
Required skills
- Alternative business models: in-licensing, out-licensing, white-label, clone, brown-box and customized go-to-market strategies.
- Active ingredient lifecycle management, including patent expiration dynamics and portfolio optimization.
- Pricing strategy, profitability management, cost transparency and make-versus-buy decisions.
- Working knowledge of IP protection, regulatory frameworks and registration, MRL and renewal processes.
- Leading complex global initiatives and influencing stakeholders across regions and cultures without direct line authority.
What we offer
- Flexible work arrangements whenever possible.
- Retirement savings plan with company match and investment options.
- Mental health support, family forming benefits and back-up child and elder care.
- Mentoring and career development, matching gifts program and employee crisis support.
