Generator Technician – HVAC & Temporary Power Systems

About the role

The Generator Technician – HVAC & Temporary Power Systems supports field operations by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting generators, electrical distribution, and climate control equipment for events, temporary structures, and emergency response deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain portable and standby generator systems for temporary power applications.
• Set up temporary electrical distribution systems, including panels, cabling, and grounding.
• Install and configure HVAC units and climate control systems used in tents and temporary structures.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on generators, electrical systems, and HVAC equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, load bank testing, and system performance checks.
• Assist with mobilization, installation, and removal of power and climate control equipment at project sites.

Required profile

• Valid electrician license (Journeyman or equivalent preferred).
• 3–5 years experience with generators, electrical systems, HVAC, or temporary power solutions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationwide (≈75% travel).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work outdoors.

Required skills

• Generator installation and maintenance.
• Electrical distribution system setup and testing.
• HVAC unit installation and climate control configuration.
• Load bank testing and performance verification.
• OSHA 10/30 safety training, EPA 608 refrigerant handling, NFPA 70E electrical safety.
