General Warehouse Associate

About the role

HD Supply is hiring a General Warehouse Associate who works across several departments in a distribution center, including case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing and replenishment. The associate operates material handling equipment to move inventory within the facility and works under general supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Use material handling equipment to locate and deliver products, supplies and equipment to designated areas.
• Assist with staging and loading orders into trucks for customer delivery.
• Verify the quantity and quality of incoming products from vendors and distribution centers.
• Use packing list information to collect items for customer orders, including building and wrapping pallets.
• Inspect stock items for wear and defects and notify management of inventory issues.
• Return misplaced products to their proper storage areas.
• Maintain a clean working environment in line with company safety policies.
• Perform inventory control functions as needed.
• Refer complex or unusual problems to the supervisor; work involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Required profile

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and to stand for periods of 60 minutes or more.
• Ability to make repetitive movements such as bending or squatting.
• Ability to understand written material; no travel required.
• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred; specialized skills training or certification may be required.
• Generally 2-5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• Preferred: prior experience in multiple departments of a distribution center and operating material handling equipment.
