General Service Technician (Hybrid)

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring a General Service Technician in a hybrid role combining front and back shop duties, with at least two days per week on the front counter. The technician performs routine vehicle repairs and maintenance, communicates vehicle issues and solutions to guests, and acts as a key holder and manager on duty when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle services and repairs according to Monro standards and manufacturer specifications
• Tire services: wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, mounting, installation and TPMS service
• Vehicle services: lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance, battery testing and installation
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle and document additional services needed
• Assist with inventory management, pulling tires and parts and stocking shelves
• Keep the store clean and guest-ready, and help with opening and closing duties
• Follow safety standards such as wheel torque and oil safety, and adhere to OSHA standards
• Test drive vehicles under the Road Test policy and assist with guest care, work orders and register assistance

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or equivalent education and experience
• Current valid driver's license, satisfactory MVR, and ability to operate customers' vehicles for test drives
• Owns a basic set of tools or joins Monro's tool purchase program
• Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
