General Operator – 2nd/3rd Shift

About the role

Join 3M’s Indianapolis manufacturing plant as a General Operator working 2nd or 3rd shift. You will collaborate with innovative teams and help produce high‑quality products in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify process and product defects, diagnose issues, and perform troubleshooting.
• Adjust process parameters such as temperature, line speed, air flow, positioning, centering, and gap.
• Operate and monitor equipment using PLC and MMI computer‑controlled interfaces.
• Use test and measuring equipment, pneumatic presses, and punch‑out machines to manufacture finished goods.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (or higher).
• Minimum two months experience operating production machinery; six months preferred in a manufacturing setting.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLC and MMI interfaces.
• Experience using test and measuring equipment.
• Operation of pneumatic presses and punch‑out equipment.
