General Laborer

About the role

Starboard Construction is expanding rapidly in the Boston residential renovation market and seeks a reliable General Laborer. You will support contractors on site, operate a range of construction tools, and uphold strict health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Unload, organize, and stack building materials and equipment.
• Assist contractors, craft workers, electricians, and painters as needed.
• Operate heavy‑duty tools such as pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and blowtorches.
• Prepare sites by digging, moving dirt, compacting, and setting up scaffolding or temporary structures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including debris removal and proper tool storage.
• Follow project instructions from the construction manager or supervisor and adhere to all safety regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training a plus.
• At least 18 years old and able to lift up to 40 lb, stand, bend, squat, and climb ladders.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills; fluency in English required, Portuguese or Spanish a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Operation of pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and blowtorches.
• Construction site preparation (digging, moving dirt, compacting).
• Scaffolding assembly and temporary structure erection.
• Use of standard construction hand and power tools.
