General Construction Estimator

About the role

A premier luxury custom home builder and remodeler in Naples and Southwest Florida, established for more than 30 years, is looking for an experienced General Construction Estimator to join its Pre-Construction and Sales team. The estimator develops accurate budgets for custom residential projects, working with clients, architects, engineers, project managers, subcontractors and trade partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop accurate and timely budgets for luxury new construction and renovation projects
• Support the Pre-Construction and Sales team with detailed project estimates and pricing
• Review construction documents and clarify project details with clients, architects, engineers and project managers
• Develop detailed scopes of work and distribute bid packages to subcontractors and trade partners
• Analyze and negotiate subcontractor and trade partner pricing and scopes, and prepare subcontractor agreements
• Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, project constraints and material requirements
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and bid processes
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction costs, building codes, industry trends and construction methods

Required profile

• 8+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in custom luxury residential construction and renovation
• Custom home construction experience preferred but not required
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, subcontractor scopes and project documentation
• Ability to manage multiple estimating priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with On-Screen Takeoff or similar estimating/takeoff software
• Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration with clients, design professionals, project managers, subcontractors and trade partners

What we offer

• Salary of $95,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience
