General Associate – SME Facilitator & Workshop Instructor

About the role

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore at Shady Grove seeks experienced industry practitioners and educators to design, lead and deliver targeted workforce training, specialized workshops, intensive bootcamps and non‑credit professional study programs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver short‑term workshops, accelerated bootcamps and professional certificate courses in face‑to‑face, hybrid or online formats.
• Translate industry expertise, professional standards and licensure requirements into practical learning modules, exercises and case studies.
• Mentor adult learners and working professionals, providing actionable feedback and industry perspectives.
• Utilise the university’s Learning Management System and digital tools to distribute materials, track progress and facilitate virtual sessions.
• Collaborate with academic leaders and industry partners to keep curriculum aligned with market demands and certification standards.

Required profile

• Relevant education and experience as defined by the comparable exempt status classification.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver workforce‑training programs for adult learners.
• Professional licensure or recognized expertise in the subject‑matter discipline is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and related educational technology tools.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation ranging from $50 to $125, commensurate with experience, discipline and delivery mode.
