Full‑time Pharmacist – Bethpage, NY

About the role

Alto Pharmacy is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Pharmacist to join its Bethpage, NY location. You will ensure prescriptions are accurate, safe, and clinically appropriate while providing patient counseling and leveraging the company’s technology platform.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and adherence strategies in person and via supported communication channels.
• Oversee medication preparation, dispensing, and quality checks, collaborating with pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Use Alto’s technology platform to manage patient profiles, coordinate refills, prior authorizations, and optimize insurance and cost options.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements and patient‑care initiatives.

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license (PharmD or equivalent) in New York, in good standing.
• Strong clinical pharmacy knowledge, including drug indications, contraindications, dosing, interactions, and therapy monitoring.
• Experience providing medication counseling and supporting adherence for diverse patient populations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks required in an on‑site pharmacy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy management systems.
• Experience using e‑prescribing tools.
• Comfort working in technology‑enabled, high‑volume pharmacy workflows.
• Knowledge of insurance plans, prior authorizations, and cost‑optimization strategies.
