About the role

The Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District is seeking a full‑time, tenure‑track French Language Teacher for Indian Hills High School for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The successful candidate will join a collaborative world‑language department and deliver immersive, proficiency‑based instruction to a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging French lessons using communicative and immersive teaching methods.
• Develop curriculum that advances interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communication skills, integrating authentic materials, technology, and cultural projects.
• Differentiate instruction for heritage speakers, beginners, and varied learning needs; assess progress with formative and summative tools aligned to proficiency guidelines.
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages risk‑taking and cultural respect.
• Collaborate with world‑language colleagues on curriculum development, interdisciplinary units, and department initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.

Required profile

• Valid NJDOE teaching certification or eligibility for a World Language – French license.
• Strong content knowledge and passion for teaching French.
• Excellent classroom management and communication abilities.
• Experience at the high‑school level preferred.

• Proficiency in French language instruction.
