Full‑Time Diesel Mechanic – Sign‑On Bonus

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a full‑time Diesel Mechanic for its Yemassee, SC service center. You will maintain a fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers and related equipment, ensuring reliable operation through preventive maintenance and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs on diesel engines, Class 8 trucks, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding tasks as needed.
• Diagnose and repair air‑conditioning and electrical systems.
• Use the Cetaris system to manage work orders and track maintenance activities.
• Lift and handle components up to 50 lb and ensure a safe work environment.

Required profile

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience (preferred).
• Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Ability to perform both preventive maintenance and major repairs.
• Own set of tools and ability to lift 50 lb.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Preferred certification: LMMECH.
